As the owners of Freedom Coffee House, we, Craig and Tamar Doughty, want to give back to the many active military and veterans in our community and show our love and appreciation for them. 

Craig has been part of a ministry for veterans and first responders for some time, and we were called to ministry before starting the coffee shop. This included starting the Calvary Chapel Cookeville. We started the church in our living room in 2021. While growing the church, we found Baxter needed a coffee shop. Freedom House Coffee's inception was in March 2023.

The coffee shop also houses church activities. “We want this place to be a family atmosphere and a community one-stop place to have a great cup of coffee, enjoy a meal, take a meeting, or just meet for group gatherings during business hours.” We’ve made this area our home with our three sons and our dog and barn cat."
